Hi My current flatmate will be moving out soon. That leaves me with an empty available room to rent out . Im basically offering half the apartment for half the rent, roughly 2800kr. Included in the rent is (i) a decently sized room (17m2 / 180 sqft), (ii) complete access to all the shared spaces (living room, balcony, kitchen, etc), (iii) Internet access (courtesy of UU, given that youre a student/employee), and of course (iv) my company -). In addition to the rent theres a monthly utilities bill that we split in half (which normally never exceeds 300kr). The room will be available from the 1st of May (maybe even sooner) so the date for moving in should ideally be between then and the beginning of June. Please note that only long term tenants will be considered, i.e. short term renters should really look elsewhere. Also, one months rent will be required as a deposition which will be returned when moving out, given that the room isnt damaged or a mess. The place is situated in Flogsta, more specifically in Kvarteret Hamberg aka Flogsta låghus. EBC/Blåsenhus, Centrum, BMC and Ångström are all within 13-20 minutes away by bike. A grocery store, ICA väst, is a 5min walk away and the buss stop that takes you into town is literally 30sek from the apartment. As a potential flatmate you should ideally be (i) financially stable (ii) a calm, reasonable and mature person who doesnt take irrelevant and transient things seriously, preferably a masters/PhD student, Post-doc, (iii) a non-smoker & pet-less, (iv) you should absolutely despise the sight of dirty dishes as well as have clean-freak tendencies. The law of the land in my place is if youre not in the kitchen then your dishes are washed and in the cupboard. This applies to both of us. Most importantly, you should not be boring. A person thats social, jovial and knows no limits for what constitutes appropriate talking topics is preferred, not a hermit that has taken a vow of silence with a head filled with platitudes. Also, its a major plus if you know a lot of obscene facts, jokes and stories. A little about myself: Im a second year student in the Molecular Biotechnology MS program with a background in physics and applied mathematics. I spend most of my time at UU studying but when my head is not buried under a pile of books I relax by playing the piano or the guitar. Im a huge fan of Blues and Jazz from 1920-1950 and Soul and Folk from the 60s, 70s and 80s. I love learning useless things and I tend to have odd and wide ranging interests, currently these are the books of Cormac McCarthy, the history of medicine and Chinas influence on- and involvement in the internal politics of resource-rich underdeveloped countries. Also, Im a vegetarian, a proud clean freak and drink tea to the degree of it being an addiction.
