a modern industrial milieu from 1911 Less than ten minutes from Södermalm, we are refurbishing Gustaf de Lavals factory dating from the beginning of the twentieth century. Together with Profi Fastigheter, we are building homes that showcase the areas industrial history. This project is unique for Stockholm since it combines renovation with new construction. A new production, but the typical unit has two rooms and a kitchen and covers 49 square meters. Some of the apartments are split-level with attractive terraces while others are space-efficient new-builds adapted in style and design to their surroundings. There are also charming townhouses with their own patios. Development of the Järla Sjö area began in 1998 and has resulted in a neighborhood with a small-town feeling despite being close to the hustle and bustle of the inner city. The area has become very popular in just a few years for three main reasons: Its close to nature The Nacka nature reserve is just across the lake. Theres loads of shopping Stores and services are right next doors in Sickla. And its easy to access It takes just nine minutes to get to the Slussen subway station by bus or the Saltsjöbanan light rail line. The apartment layouts at Turbinhallen are both space-efficient and functional. In terms of appearance, weve tried to retain the industrial heritage of the buildings. The newly constructed parts reflect the character of the historical buildings to blend in with the rest of the neighborhood. The two room and kitchen apartments are noteworthy for their optimum use of space. The kitchen, which opens into the living room, is designed to offer good work surfaces and storage. From the living room, there is access to a lovely terrace. And last but not least, theres one great feature that comes from using industrial spaces: the ceiling height is a full 3.2 meters
